COED Machine Pitch & Instructional T-Ball

Due to restrictions based on COVID-19 guidelines, Instructional T-Ball and Machine Pitch Baseball will concentrate on basic/intermediate fundamentals based on age. Team practices and games will be excluded. Lyon County will have to be in Phase II of the COVID-19 Ad Astra Plan in order to proceed with this program. Both T-Ball and Machine Pitch will meet Tuesday’s and Thursday’s for four weeks.  T-Ball will meet from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. and Machine Pitch will meet from 7 - 8 p.m. at the Whittier Park Softball Diamonds.  See program details below for further information.    If you are currently registered and want to cancel, please contact the Emporia Recreation Center via email at office.emporiarec@emporiarec.org by Friday, May 29th or call 620-340-6300.

Micro Baseball & Softball:

Micro Baseball/Softball will continue as scheduled.  Based on COVID-19 restrictions, we will continue this instructional parent/child program as is with some modifications. Lyon County will have to be in Phase II of the COVID-19 Ad Astra Plan in order to proceed with this program.

Pigtail, Ponytail, Junior Softball- 

The Neosho Valley League for Emporia Recreation Center Pigtail, Ponytail and Junior Softball is cancelled.  The Emporia Rec plans to keep your kids working on skills and fundamentals this summer when Lyon County is able to enter COVID-19 Phase II.  See program details below for further information.  

**Further details will be communicated to participants as we know more including social distancing and face mask requirements. The Emporia Recreation Commission asks parents to decide what is right for your child at this time. We are working with local and state authorities as well as the Kansas Recreation and Park Association (KRPA) to ensure we comply with the guidelines being put into place to provide the best possible experience for all. However, the ERC cannot guarantee that you or your child(ren)will not become infected with COVID-19.**

Payment with a credit/debit card must be made online.  Follow these instructions for registration:

(If you qualify for the Youth Fee Waiver, your discount will be reflected if you register with your existing account.  If you create a new account, the Youth Fee Waiver will not be reflected. If we do not already have your USD 253 eligibility letter on file, please email office.emporiarec@emporiarec.org or call 620-340-6300 and leave a message.) 

  • See below for your player’s age group and find the registration link in that tab.

  • Click the link and log in to your account.  Note:  If you have only registered in-person, your log-in will be the email that the ERC has on your account.  Log in with that email and click the "Forgot Password" button to create a new password.  If you qualify for a Youth Fee Waiver, see note above.)

  • Complete registration and payment.

Payment with check or money order must be mailed.  Follow these instructions for registration:

  • Download the registration form here.   This is a fillable form so you can type in your info and download it from the link if you are on a computer.  If you are on a phone, you may need an additional app to fill out the form.

  • Print and mail the completed form with a check or money order to:

    • DO NOT MAIL CASH.  The Emporia Recreation Commission will not be responsible for cash sent in the mail for payment.

Pigtail Instructional Softball

The Neosho Valley League for Emporia Recreation Center Minor, Major & Junior Baseball and Pigtail, Ponytail and Junior Softball has been cancelled. The ERC plans to keep your kids working on skills and fundamentals this summer when Lyon County is able to enter COVID19 Ad Astra Phase II.  If Lyon County enters COVID19 Phase III during this time, we will look into adding two weeks to the schedule and play double-headers if possible. Eligible for the Youth Fee Waiver

  • Ages: 3rd - 5th grades
  • Registration Opens: May 15, 2020
  • Regular Registration Closes: June 5, 2020 or when program reaches maximum participants
  • Fees: $25 (Reduced: $12.50, Free: $6.25)
  • Minimum Participants: 12
  • Maximum Participants: 30 
  • Dates: June 8 to July 2
  • Days: Monday’s & Wednesday’s
  • Time: 5:30-6:30 p.m.
  • 1st Meeting: June 8, 2020 at 5:30 p.m.
