Wellness Center Guidelines

All members and Day Pass guests agree to the following guidelines upon entry to the Emporia Recreation Center Wellness Center and Fitness Studio. We appreciate your participation in making the ERC a safe, pleasant and family-oriented place to stay active for life.

  • Patrons using the equipment in the Wellness Center and Fitness Studio are responsible for their own safety. Please seek advice and assistance from our staff if necessary.
  • Children 12 - 13 years of age must be directly supervised by an adult at all times. Children 14 years or older can be unsupervised. No children under the age of 12 are allowed in the Wellness Center.
  • Report any injury or broken/damaged equipment to the Wellness Center Staff on duty.
  • Equipment should be wiped down after use. Spray disinfectant onto towels provided to clean items. Do not spray directly on equipment.
  • Respect for the equipment, facilities, guests and staff must be demonstrated at all times.
  • Re-rack weights and put accessories back after use.
  • Be conscientious of others wanting to use a machine or equipment. Allow others to rotate in and limit time on equipment if a line is forming.
  • All beverages in the Wellness Center and Fitness Studio must be in a container with a lid. No open containers.
  • Closed-toe shoes must be worn at all times. Exercising without shoes is prohibited.
  • Shirts must be worn at all times.
  • Only personal devices with headphones are acceptable. Broadcasting personal music freely or talking on the phone in the Wellness Center is prohibited. Please follow these guidelines when sharing the Fitness Studio.
  • Failure to adhere to ERC Guidelines/Policies may result in a loss of privileges.
