Mystery Lunch Bunch

imgres-8Grab a couple of your friends and your spirit of adventure, and we will provide the ride to lunch! May 17 and July 19 will be out of town so you pay for lunch.  April 20, June 15, and August 16 will be local mysteries so lunch will be included in the fee.  We will do the driving to get you there and back safely so you can relax and enjoy the company. Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead Wednesday, April 25                                     The Farmstead brings a frontier farm to families living in the city. Visitors can see more than 250 animals and birds, learn about growing flowers and vegetables, or experience an Indian encampment, a one-room country schoolhouse and a turn-of-the-century main street. Visitors will also treasure memories of bottle-feeding baby goats, milking cows and riding horse-drawn wagons through the woods. Take a trip back in time and relish turn-of-the-century family farm features, including a fishing pond, schoolhouse, Dairy Barn, horse and wagon rides and more.   Bus leaves ERC at 9 and return by 4.                            Fee: $45 and includes a Planet Sub box lunch        Registration closes: April 16th     Min/Max: 12/22

Sunset Zoo- May 31        Home to over 200 amazing animals – from anteater to zebu – Sunset Zoo in Manhattan, KS offers up-close views of amazing animals including wallaby, otters, leopards and a jumping, hooting array of primates. In addition to the Zoo’s beautifully landscaped grounds, there are several unique garden spaces including a Butterfly and Hummingbird Garden.  Fee: $40 includes lunch        Register by: May 18    Age: Any (kids w/ parents)      Time: 8:30am – 3:00pm                                                   Location: ERC Bus to Manhattan         Min/Max: 10/20

Overland Park Arboretum and Botanical Gardens- June 28     The 300-acre Overland Park Arboretum and Botanical Gardens is an educational, recreational and cultural resource for the Kansas City region.  At the Arboretum, visitors may experience and explore:  13 gardens with more than 1,700 species of plants; Trails that traverse rocky bluffs and bottomland paths;  180 acres of prairie home to native grasses and wildflowers; Fauna, including birds, dragonflies, deer, snakes and other wildlife.                                          Fee: $40 includes lunch         Register by: June 22       Age: Any (kids w/ parents)      Location: ERC bus to Overland Park       Time: 8:30am-3:00pm     Min/Max: 10/20

Kansas City Royals- July 25      Join us as we cheer on our Kansas City Royals as they face the Detroit Tigers on Wednesday July 25 with first pitch at 1:15.  We will leave the ERC parking lot at 9:30 am and arrive at Kauffman Stadium around 11:30 to tailgate, then walk to the stadium in time for first pitch.  ERC will provide hotdogs, chips, salad and pop/water.  We will return to Emporia at the end of the game.  Fee includes ticket, transportation, parking and lunch.   Fee: $70 includes lunch and ticket                          Register by: July 6      Time: ERC bus leaves at 9:30am      Age: Any (kids w/ parents)      Min/Max: 10/20
