SilverSneakers Fitness Program

This program is an innovative health, exercise and wellness program helping older adults live healthy, active lifestyles. Your SilverSneakers fitness membership includes:

*Access to our basic amenities such as our heated pool with locker rooms, showers, indoor track, fitness equipment, circuit training, etc.

* SilverSneakers classes and other classes we offer such as Yoga, AquaFit, Arthritis Aquatics and Fit Forever.   Most important, your membership is available to you at little or no cost through your health plan.

Table Tennis Mondays & Thursdays and Pickleball Monday – Friday  

Punch Card for 50+ Sports:  Purchase a Discount Punch Card for $20 with 22 punches to use for any of the 50+ Sports as often as you like. All ages are welcome to play. We created the program to encourage those 50 and older to continue their love of sports and competition. All equipment for these indoor sports will be provided by ERC. Equipment will be set up each morning by 11:00am by our staff.

Mondays and Thursdays @ 9-11am – Table Tennis in the Community Room

Monday-Friday @ 11am – Pickleball in the Gymnasium

    Pickleball is a fun game which combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis. The game is played with wooden paddles and a waffle ball the size of a baseball. Ordinarily this game is played on a tennis court but ERC has moved it indoors to the gymnasium. Pickleball is easy for beginners to learn (instruction available), but can also be a competitive game for the experienced player.   Table Tennis (ping pong) and Pickleball equipment will be available at ERC for your use.

Nutrition Answers
Many of you have questions about what to eat and how much. How much fat? How much protein? How many carbohydrates? It’s a pretty confusing “diet world” right now. Is it low-carb or low-cal? What is REALLY healthy? Talk to a fitness center instructor to help you plan your healthier lifestyle changes. Remember, nutrition is a way of life, not just a diet. Small steps can create big changes.

Gift Certificates
Give the “Gift of Health” Gift Certificates may be purchased for those special occasions or at anytime during the year. Any Fitness Room Programs or Group Class Session are available to give as a gift. Ask a fitness center instructor for assistance.

Downsizing for a Discount
Living healthy and losing weight does not have to be a difficult process. Just remember to take in fewer calories than you use. But for many, this is a difficult task. This program is meant to help you determine and achieve a healthy weight and above all, maintain a healthy lifestyle. At the end of this 3-month program, when the participant has lost the required 5 pounds per month, ERC fitness center will give a 10% discount off the member’s next membership.

Keepin’ The Pace   Come join our on-going fitness promotional program, “Keepin’ the Pace”; designed especially to keep you active and motivated. By keeping track of their cardiovascular workout minutes, our members are earning ERC membership discounts & prizes.

Body Composition
We all know how important it is to keep a check on our body fat because of heart disease and diabetes; just to name a couple. With just a 7 second test you can check your improvement with the
“Body Fat Analyzer”. Ask a fitness center instructor for assistance.

Blood Pressure
Reduce stress, eat smart, cut salt intake, and exercise; these are all ways to help lower blood pressure. The fitness room provides a self-testing blood pressure machine for your use. Ask a fitness center instructor for assistance.

Fitness Assessments
The fitness assessment is designed to educate individuals about their current level of fitness. Whether you are a beginner or advanced exerciser, testing at regular intervals will help keep you on track and allow you to see positive results. The test includes: Body Composition, Cardiovascular Endurance, Flexibility, Muscular Strength &

Personal Training
Personal Training consists of one on-one hourly sessions with a certified trainer. They can help you gain speed and strength for a specific sport, or help you with goals of weight loss or gain. Call the fitness room for details.
