TRYSA Fall 2016 Field Layout

1st & 2nd Grade Instructional Flag Football                                                               This program provides an opportunity for kids to learn the basic rules and fundamentals of football and gain interest in the sport. Players will learn both offensive and defensive skills while having fun and staying active. The first 2 weeks will consist of instruction and practice, followed by 4 weeks of league games. Mouth guards will be provided.   Eligible for Youth Fee Waiver    VOLUNTEER COACHES ARE NEEDED.                                        Start Date: August 28                                                                                                              Time: 1st meeting @ 6:00pm, then 6:00 or 7:00 on Tuesdays and Thursdays .             Fees: $25/USD #253 Resident  $30/Non-Resident                                                      Registration Closes:     August 17                                                                               Location: DeBauge Family Sports Complex (4201 W. 18th Ave.)

3rd – 4th Grade Flag Football      In this 6 week program, young players will have the opportunity to sharpen their football skills while having fun learning the fundamentals of the game. Focus will be placed on catching, throwing, and route running, along with defensive skills and sportsmanship. 5th & 6th Tackle Football          The tackle football league will consist of kids entering the 5th and 6th grades.  Games will be played on Saturday mornings/early afternoons at the Emporia High School athletic complex.  ERC will supply equipment and uniforms.  Participants playing on an Emporia team are required to attend a MANDATORY player workout. All players must have a physical before they are allowed to practice. Anyone interested in volunteer coaching, please call 340-6300.  Players will be contacted by their coaches following the coaches meeting the week of July 30.                                                Tackle Football Youth Fee Waiver Policy: Those eligible for free lunches will pay half the regular price, those with reduced lunches will receive a 25% discount off the regular price.

Youth Fee Waiver Scholarship Policy                                                                                 For Youth Flag Football-The Emporia Recreation Center will follow the  guidelines used by USD253 to determine the qualifications for free or reduced price meals. Those who reside in the USD253 school district and are enrolled in Kindergarten through Tenth grade, may apply for a fee waiver by contacting the Emporia Recreation Main Office. Those eligible for free lunches will have a $5.00 co-pay per activity, those with reduced lunches will pay half of the cost of the activity.  All fee waiver participants are limited to six activities per year (August through July).  For Youth Tackle Football- those eligible for free lunches will pay half the regular fee, those with reduced lunches will receive a 25% discount off the regular fee.
